Packaging And Sending Your Spectacle Waste To Us

For Participating Optical Businesses

When your Recycline National Spectacle Recycling Scheme collection box is full please empty the contents into a suitable container for posting to us. We recommend using cardboard boxes as these are hard wearing and easily recyclable.

NB: The Recycline National Spectacle Recycling Scheme collection box is not posted back to us containing waste frames, and instead stays with you in store to be refilled.

Please take care when unpacking the Recycline collection box, as some parts of spectacle waste may cause injury if mishandled, and please also take care not to damage the collection box, as it is your responsibility to look after the box, and a new box will entail a charge.

Ensure that your parcel contains only items listed that we accept (details of what we do and do not accept can be found here). Also ensure that the package is securely wrapped and that you have included you unique reference number on a sheet of paper attached to the outside of the package and another sheet included inside the package.

NB: At this time the cost of postage of the waste spectacles to our facility in Essex is currently payable by the participating optical store. We hope to introduce a free or flat rate postal service soon and embed this into our website, but as of now, we suggest you find the size/weight combination that works best and most cost effectively with your preferred postal service provider, and that you empty your collection box at intervals that fit best with that service.

Then send your waste spectacles to us the new facility in Essex at the following address:

Recyc-Line Ltd

43 Purdeys Way

Purdeys Way Industrial Estate

Essex

SS4 1ND

We will record all weights recovered by each store on our website at the end of each calendar month, and when you reach a 100 kilograms we will plant you a tree

For Private Individuals

Although we recommend you first trying to locate your nearest participating optician on our Recycling Locations page here, you are of course more than welcome to send your unwanted spectacles straight on to us at the address above.

If you would like to drop them off to a recycling location but there are currently none near your location then we apologise for this and can only ask that you check back again soon. And perhaps you could call or email your local opticians and ask them if they would consider signing up to our scheme.
